What is CMF (Chaikin Money Flow)?

The A/D Line's logic compressed into a bounded oscillator: volume-weighted close-position averaged over 20 days, oscillating around zero.

Formula

CMF = Ξ£(Money Flow Volume, 20 days) Γ· Ξ£(Volume, 20 days)

How to Interpret

Sustained readings above +0.10 signal steady accumulation; below βˆ’0.10, distribution. Zero-line crosses mark flow regime changes. Divergence against price works the same as with OBV.

Typical Ranges

Β±0.10 as the accumulation/distribution thresholds are conventions. Inherits A/D's gap-blindness; thin-volume assets produce erratic readings.
