Technical

What is Doji?

A candle whose open and close land at (or almost at) the same price, leaving a cross-shaped bar with little or no body β€” a session that traveled but settled where it began.

Formula

Doji: |Open βˆ’ Close| β‰ˆ 0 relative to the day's full range

How to Interpret

Context is everything β€” a doji after an extended rally or selloff flags potential exhaustion and precedes many reversals; a doji inside a quiet range means nothing. Confirmation comes from the NEXT candle's direction.

Typical Ranges

The single most over-interpreted candlestick. Statistically weak alone; it earns attention only at extremes, at key levels, or on unusual volume.
