The 50-day moving average crossing above the 200-day β the classic long-term bullish trend-change signal, marking medium-term momentum overtaking the long-term trend.

How to Interpret
Treated as confirmation that a new uptrend is established, not a precise entry-timing tool β by the time it fires, a meaningful part of the move has usually happened. Strongest with rising volume and a rising 200-day average.
Typical Ranges
Rare by design β typically fires at most a few times per asset per decade. In choppy markets, golden and death crosses can alternate repeatedly (whipsaw), which weakens the signal.
