What is Morning Star / Evening Star?
Three-candle reversal structures: a big trend candle, then a small-bodied pause (the 'star'), then a strong candle back the other way. Morning Star bottoms a decline; Evening Star tops a rally.
Formula
How to Interpret
A full reversal arc compressed into three sessions — conviction, hesitation, counter-conviction. Among the most reliable multi-candle patterns when the third bar closes deep into the first bar's body, ideally on expanding volume. A doji star strengthens the print.
Typical Ranges
Needs all three candles to complete — acting on two is premature by definition. Three-day patterns are slower signals; the move is often partially underway by confirmation.
