Technical
What is New 20-Day High / Low?
Price printing its highest high (or lowest low) of the past 20 trading days — roughly one calendar month — escaping the recent range in either direction.
Formula
New 20D High: today's High = Highest High of past 20 sessions; New 20D Low: mirror condition
How to Interpret
Trend-following logic treats fresh 20D highs as strength to join (the shorter Turtle-system trigger), 20D lows as breakdowns. Clusters of new highs across many assets signal broad regime strength.
Typical Ranges
In ranging markets, marginal new highs/lows that immediately reverse ('false breaks') are routine — the follow-through, not the print, carries the information.
